Beaver Falls, PA – It wasn′t exactly the victory Geneva was looking for on Saturday night, but it wasn′t a loss. The Golden Tornadoes are still in search of their first victory in 2006, but on Saturday night gave one of their best efforts of the early season and battled Seton Hill to a 1-1 tie. Both teams found the net in the second half, but neither could get the game winner in a 20 minute overtime. With the tie, Geneva moved its overall record to 0-5-2 on the season.

Seton Hill opened the scoring with a goal in the 58th minute. It looked, for a while, that would end up being the game-winner, but Geneva answered with just under nine minutes left in regulation. Will Godfrey drilled a shot from 30 yards out that found the corner of the net for the equalizer. It was Godfrey′s second goal in as many games for the Golden Tornadoes.

Geneva managed ten shots in the game and held Seton Hill to just six. Sam McCracken made four saves in the victory, including an eventual game winner in the final ten minutes of action when he dove across the front of the net to deflect away a shot that was ticketed for the corner.

Geneva will continue its search of a victory for first-year head coach Todd Beall when they get back into action at St. Vincent next Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes will return to Merriman Athletic Complex next Saturday to host Houghton College.
