Johnstown, PA – When Will Godfrey scored with eight minutes remaining in Geneva′s game against Seton Hill to tie the score two weeks ago, Geneva′s men′s soccer team thought that could be the offensive turning point it was looking for. As it turns out, Geneva has now gone three games without scoring a goal since Godfrey′s game tying effort against Seton Hill. On Tuesday, the Golden Tornadoes were shut out for the seventh time in 2006 in a 1-0 loss at Pitt-Johnstown. Geneva′s overall record fell to 0-7-3 on the season.

Another evenly played match that saw the Golden Tornadoes have several chances to break the scoring drought, came to a close without Geneva finding the net. UPJ scored the game′s only goal in the 21st minute and the Golden Tornadoes were never able to respond. Sam McCracken made six saves in the game as both teams finished the match with seven shots.

Up next for the Golden Tornadoes will be back to back home matches this weekend. On Friday, Geneva will entertain Walsh University and on Saturday Myers University comes calling to Merriman Athletic Complex. Geneva remains just 0-1-1 in the AMC North and will play its next conference match next Tuesday at Notre Dame College.
