October′s issue of Glamour Magazine named Josie Badger as one of the two "honorable mentions" in their “Brilliant, brave, and under 25!” contest.

Born with a rare form of muscular dystrophy called congenital myasthenia gravis syndrome, Badger has overcome many obstacles and acquired several achievements over the years that qualify her for such an honor.

For example, this Geneva College student co-founded Paw Prints, a club that continues to train service dogs for people with disabilities when she was only 12 years old.

She was also named president of the National Youth Leadership Network, which comprises more than 300 youths with disabilities who are leaders.

Now 22, Badger is a graduating senior at Geneva, and is pursuing a self-designed major, disability law and advocacy, in hopes of a career in public administration.

While at Geneva, Badger has served as sophomore and junior class president, and is currently the senior class secretary. She is also active in clubs such as the Geneva chapter of Acting on AIDS.

“The idea of student leadership was never something I really thought about until I came to Geneva, and since then my idea of what being a leader is has completely changed,” stated Badger.

Badger entered the Glamour competition due to the encouragement of her nursing attendant. She was then interviewed three times by the magazine before they informed her that she had been chosen as one of the 12 most dynamic college women in the nation.
