Beaver Falls, PA – You don′t need to look any further than College Hill if you′re looking for the hottest team in the American Mideast Conference. Geneva′s women′s team continued to roll on Thursday night with a convincing 73-53 victory over Point Park, its seventh straight win, in improving to 11-2 overall, including a 4-0 mark in the AMC North.

Geneva took just a 12-point lead into the locker room, but extended its margin to as many as 33 points at 71-38 with just under five minutes to play. Point Park scored 15 of the game′s final 17 points to make the final margin much closer than the game itself.

Once again, Geneva enjoyed a very balanced offensive attack led by Allyson Clarke′s 17 points. Renee Rawding added 12 points and Jackie Anthony and Lauren Uranker each chipped in with 10 points in the victory. Point Park got a game high 23 points from Ashleigh Hays.

Geneva, which is the number two ranked defense in the country, allowed Point Park to reach 53 points, which is right at the season defensive average. “We pride ourselves on solid defense,” said head coach Ron Galbreath. “I was very pleased with our effort defensively tonight.”

Galbreath, who reached his 600th career victory last Saturday night, was recognized by Geneva College for his accomplishments after Thursday night′s victory.

Geneva will have its biggest test of the season next Tuesday night when it travels to Daemen College in a battle for first place in the AMC North. Both Geneva and Daemen sit a top the conference at 4-0. The Golden Tornadoes will return to Metheny Fieldhouse next weekend to host Houghton on Friday and Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
