Olathe, KS - Geneva′s women′s basketball team didn′t even have time to come down from Cloud Nine before they received the news that it wouldn′t get any easier at the NAIA Division II national tournament. Qualifying for the national stage for the first time in school history, Geneva will put its 24-4 record on the line against Mid-America Nazarene, KS (30-3), a team that won the Heart of American Athletic Conference tournament.

Geneva, which completed its storybook run through the American Mideast Conference tournament on Tuesday night, defeated Shawnee St. 67-57 in the tournament championship. The Golden Tornadoes have already set a school record for victories in a season with their 24-4 mark and will be making their first appearance at the national tournament.

Geneva will meet Mid-America Nazarene on Thursday morning at 10:15 am central standard time. The tournament begins next Wednesday with eight first-round games. Friday will feature the round of 16 with the quarterfinals taking place on Saturday in Sioux City, IA.

Every game of the NAIA women′s tournament will be video streamed on the NAIA website at www.naia.org.

Geneva drew a #7 seed in its bracket, which has Mid-America Nazarene seeded second. St. Francis, IN is the top seed in Geneva′s bracket, while the Golden Tornadoes would face the winner of Ottawa, KS and Saint Ambrose, IA in round two on Friday at 10:15 am Central time.
