Geneva College will host Wilberforce University Choir on January 21 as part of Geneva′s Colloquia Series.

The choir is conducted by Jeremy Winston, an associate professor of music at Wilberforce University and a holder of the Ray Charles Distinguished Chair of Sacred and Choral Music.

Recently recording a soundtrack for the film “Amazing Grace,” the choir is one of America′s oldest African-American collegiate ensembles. Their repertoire includes a variety of music, including classical, gospel, jazz, spirituals, seasonal, Broadway and opera.

Wilberforce University, founded with for the purpose of providing excellent education to African-Americans, continues to emphasize the development of Christian attitudes and ideals in their mission.

The concert will be at 5:00 p.m. in Skye Lounge. Admission is free and open to the public.
