WORTH THE TRIP, FIVE-HOUR HAUL COMPLETE
WITH VICTORY OVER THOMAS MORE

Crestview Hills, KY - When Geneva College joined the Presidents′ Athletic Conference all the long trips were supposed to be eliminated. That is, of course, except for the five-hour trip to Thomas More. Geneva′s tennis team made that trek on Friday morning and at the end of the day walked off the court with an 8-1 victory to even its overall record at 3-3.

The Golden Tornadoes swept three doubles matches led by the number one team of Chelsea Cover and Kara Zimmerman. In number two doubles, Amy Weller and Jill Grabski teamed up for an 8-4 victory. Maura McLaughlin, the reigning NCCAA national player of the week, along with Bethany Ragonesi took care of match number three by the count of 8-4.

Geneva took five of six singles matches including two-time winners Cover, Weller, Grabski and McLaughlin. Havilah Mohler also picked up a singles victory at #6 by the score of 6-2, 6-0.

The Golden Tornadoes will host Washington & Jefferson in another PAC match next Thursday afternoon.
