PAST BETHANYTO EXTEND STREAK
Bethany, WV - Win streaks continue to be the theme of the fall for Geneva′s athletic teams with the top honors continuing to go to the Golden Tornadoes women′s volleyball team. On Wednesday night, Geneva cruised to a 3-0 victory over Bethany College to extend its current win streak to eight matches and raise its overall record to
10-3.
A nearly perfect hitting night for Adriane Blake, Geneva′s leader at the net, as the sophomore threw down 13 kills on just 20 attempts with no errors. A hitting percentage of .650 on the night led the attack. Blake got much help from her teammates as Blair Bruce added nine kills, Rachel Kuegler chipped in with eight throw downs and Michelle Zimmovan finished the match with six kills and a team best two blocks.
On the defensive end of the floor, Faith Guerra led the way with 11 digs and also added four service aces. The leading setter in the PAC, Brandi Snavely, added 33 assists to her season total.
Geneva will return to Metheny Fieldhouse and look to increase its win streak into double digits with a pair of matches on Friday evening. The Golden Tornadoes are schedule to face Penn State Beaver at 4 pm and Houghton College at 8 pm. Geneva will get back into PAC play next Tuesday night when it hosts Grove City.
