WINNING WAYS CONTINUE WITH 6TH STRAIGHT SWEEP,

STREAK REACHES 11

BeaverFalls, P A - Geneva′s volleyball team is all about streaks these days. On Tuesday, the Golden Tornadoes extended several streaks with a convincing 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 28-26) victory over Grove City College. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 13-3 on the season including 11 consecutive victories. Geneva swept an opponent for the sixth consecutive match and improved to 6-0 against PAC competition.

Freshman Rachel Kuegler performed very unfreshmanlike with a team best 18 kills, but she got much support from her Golden Tornadoes teammates. Michelle Zimmovan controlled the middle of the court with nine kills and a team best four blocks. Adriane Blake, who has been perhaps the most dominant player in the conference, was solid with eight kills and seven service aces. Blake hit five aces on her first five serves in game one to get the Golden Tornadoes on track. Elizabeth Fisher added seven kills to help the Geneva cause on Tuesday night.

Brandi Snavely continued to run the offense very efficiently with 38 assists to continue her lead in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

Geneva cruised to victories in games one and two but had to rally for an emotional victory in game three. Coming back from six points down in game three, Geneva needed three match points to finally get the job done.

The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Thomas More on Thursday for a showdown with the team most think is the favorite in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. Geneva will return home on October 14th to host Bethany College.
