9th RANKED W & J AIRSOUT VICTORY
SPOILS HOMECOMING PARTY

Beaver Falls, PA - All the stars were aligned for a big night on College Hill on Saturday night. It was a near capacity crowd of almost 6000 people jamming into the newly renovated Reeves Field. It was a perfect homecoming night and the Golden Tornadoes were faced with the challenge of a top ten team coming into their house. Unfortunately, W & J decided to spoil the party with a 43-14 victory over the Golden Tornadoes. W & J improved to 5-0, while the Golden Tornadoes fell to 1-3, including back to back home losses to start the season.

After Geneva went three and out on its first possession, W & J went 68 yards on six plays to open the scoring. On a 4th and 18 play, Bobby Swallow hooked up with Luke Espe for 34 yards to get on the board. Swallow then found Craig Besong for 63 yards to extend the lead late in the first quarter. Swallow tossed his third touchdown of the game midway through the second quarter on a 28 yard hook-up to Derek Taylor.

Geneva tried to make a game of it when Matt Barge scored on a four yard pass from David Girardi to culminate a five play, 80 yard drive. After a Geneva fumble in the final minute of the half, the President′s took advantage with a Besong 7 yard score.

Besong racked up 213 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his return to Beaver County. Swallow was 19-28 for 327 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.

Geneva′s other score came in the second half after a Solomon Hijirika blocked punt. Two plays later, Matt Dean scored his second touchdown of the season.

Dean rushed for 77 yards on six carries to lead the running game, while David Girardi threw for 108 yards on 11-21 throws.

Zach Feltrop led the Geneva defense with five tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Aaron Tommelleo added nine tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

The Golden Tornadoes will look to get back into the win column next week when they travel to Grove City. Geneva returns to Reeves Field on October 18th to host Waynesburg.
