Genevans Christmas concert

Beaver Falls, Pa. - The Genevans, the 60-voice a cappella choir of Geneva College, will present "Christmas Favorites Old and New" on Friday, Dec.  5 and Saturday, Dec. 6, in First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls, located at 8th Ave. and 11th St. Jubilation in Bronze, Geneva's handbell choir, will provide a prelude at 7:30 p.m., and the concert will follow at 8:00 p.m.

Dr. Robert Copeland, director of The Genevans, selected beloved carols from England, France and Austria as well as Christmas hymns from Germany, Italy and the United States. These include John Jacob Niles's classic "I Wonder as I Wonder," a chorus from Camille Saint-Saëns's Christmas Oratorio, and Morton Lauridsen's stunning "O Nata Lux."

The Madrigal Singers, Grace Note, and Eight Bells will also perform. Organist for the concert is Dr. Beth Harrison, lecturer in organ and music theory at Geneva College.

Admission to the concert is free. A free-will offering will be received to defray expenses of The Genevans' international ministry. The Genevans Christmas Concerts have been presented annually since 1938.
