LOSING STREAK REACHES THREE WITH LOSS AT BETHANY

Bethany, WV - Geneva′s women′s basketball watched W & J take over its game on Wednesday night with a huge second half. On Saturday afternoon, the Golden Tornadoes trailed by only nine against Bethany at halftime but watched the Bison score 12 of the first 14 points of the second half and cruise to an 81-60 victory. The loss was Geneva′s third straight as the Golden Tornadoes fell to 8-10 for the season and dropped two games below .500 for the first time all season. Bethany won for the fifth time in six games and improved to 9-10 on the season.

Geneva College started well in the first half and led by as many as six points in the first stanza but was again unable to maintain that momentum. The Golden Tornadoes forced 15 first half turnovers by the Bison, but were not able to take advantage because of its poor shooting. Geneva managed just 11 first half field goals and shot just 28% from the field, including a 1-13 effort from three point range.

Bethany took control of the game in the second half by shooting 59% from the field and knocking down 4-6 shots from three-point range. Bethany was led by Kaitlyn McCormick′s 20 points. The Golden Tornadoes got 12 points from Val Hamilton off the bench and 11 points from Beth DeLuca. Geneva was out rebounded in the contest by a 55-32 margin. Susannah Cartland led the Bison with ten rebounds in the game.

The Golden Tornadoes will look to put an end to its current losing streak on Wednesday night when they return home to face Saint Vincent College.
