BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - In the wake of financial challenges which have struck from coast to coast and in our own backyard, Geneva College′s adult Degree Completion Program (DCP) is now offering tuition assistance for laid-off workers.
"There are people who have been laid off and those who are afraid that they may be next. At Geneva College, we provide higher education for adults particularly for times like these," says Assistant Dean of Adult Education Ralph Phillips. "Because Geneva is a Christ-centered college, we do more than teach subjects in the classroom. We help people discover their calling, which is especially important in times of transition. We prepare our students to find their life′s purpose and to finish well."
Enrollment and financial aid counselors work with prospective students on a case-by-case basis to create the best possible financial aid package to benefit each individual. Beyond the new assistance for laid-off workers, nearly 95% of DCP adult students receive financial aid such as grants, scholarships and loans.
DCP is held in 11 locations in western Pennsylvania. Adults with prior college and work experience can finish their bachelor's degree in as little as 17 months. DCP offers four contemporary majors: community ministry, human resources, human services and organizational development, all taught by qualified, experienced faculty.
From now through June, 2009, there are 11 DCP class starts at nine different locations.
