POST-SEASON AWARDS FLOW IN FOR
GENEVA SOFTBALL

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva′s softball season came to an end last week with an overall record of 25-15. This week begins the process of post-season awards being handed out and both the NCCAA and the PAC have announced its All-Region and All-Conference recipients. The Golden Tornadoes were well represented on both lists including six first team All-Region selections and four All-PAC coaching honor selections.

Senior Amy Pearce was named NCCAA All-Region player of the year for the second consecutive season. Pearce continued her assault on the Geneva College record books with another record breaking season. Pearce hit a record .459 this year with a team best six home runs and 41 RBI′s. Joining Pearce on the East Region first team were seniors Michawn Rich and Ashley Archer, along with sophomores Rebekah Wahl and Adriane Blake. Freshman Martha Adams was also a first team selection.

Rich hit .354 with 33 runs scored and 23 RBI′s. Archer was a standout in the circle with 13 victories and 139 strikeouts in 127 innings pitched. Wahl also enjoyed a great year with eight victories and 102 strikeouts. Blake hit .419 with a team best 12 stolen bases for the Golden Tornadoes. In her first collegiate season, Adams hit .331 with 40 hits and 20 RBI′s.

The Presidents′ Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference selections on Tuesday and four Golden Tornadoes were listed as honorees for Coaching Awards. Because Geneva is still in its provisional phase, its players are not yet eligible for All-Conference honors. Included in the coaching award winners were Pearce, Rich, Blake and Archer.
