Geneva College Commencement ceremonies

Geneva College will hold its undergraduate commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Reeves Field. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move indoors to Metheny Fieldhouse.

Mrs. Joy (Morgan ′68) Jewell, Dean Emerita of Student Development, will address the undergraduate class. Mrs. Jewell retired from the college in the spring of 2008, after almost 30 years of dedicated service.

The graduate and adult education commencement ceremony will take place Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean of Adult Education Dr. Ralph N. Phillips will deliver an address entitled “Tests of Significance.” Dr. Phillips administers the Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCP) and Bridge programs, and teaches courses on applied research and statistics, faith perspectives and ethics.

This year′s baccalaureate service will be held on Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. Dr. Jonathan Watt, Associate Professor of Biblical Studies, will be the speaker. Dr. Watt also teaches part time at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh and conducts research in the field of sociolinguistics.
