Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College women′s tennis team may have had some revenge on its mind on Tuesday as the Golden Tornadoes opened up their new season. In the season finale of 2008, Geneva fell victim to Chatham College in a tightly contested match that ultimately cost Geneva an overall record over the .500 mark. On Tuesday, the Golden Tornadoes picked up a measure of revenge as they opened the new campaign with a 6-3 decision over Chatham.

Geneva was able to pick up four victories out of six singles matches and then got two of three doubles victories for the team win. Senior Bethany Ragonesi picked up a victory in her singles match then teamed up with Maura McLaughlin for a win in doubles action. Ashlyn Mallison won her first collegiate match at #5 singles and she then teamed up with AmyWeller for a win in doubles play. Kara Zimmerman was also able to pick up a victory at number two singles.

The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Saint Vincent College next Wednesday for their second match of the young season.
