Crestview Hills, KY - Geneva′s men′s soccer team opened its season with nine matches against non-conference foes. On Friday, the Golden Tornadoes opened their PAC schedule in Kentucky against Thomas More. Geneva could have found a better opponent as the Saints cruised past Geneva 3-0 in improving to 8-2 on the season. Meanwhile, the Golden Tornadoes suffered their second straight loss after dropping a 3-0 decision to top ranked Messiah on Tuesday. The loss moved Geneva′s overall record to 6-4 on the season.

Geneva watched Thomas More tally the only first half goal to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. The Saints picked up a pair of insurance goals in the second half for the final 3-0 margin.

After posting four consecutive shut-outs of its own, the Golden Tornadoes have now gone two straight themselves without finding the net. Each of Geneva′s four losses has resulted in shut-outs against the Golden Tornadoes. The good news is when Geneva does find the net; it has a perfect 6-0 record.

The Golden Tornadoes will return home next week for home matches against Bethany on Wednesday and a homecoming meeting with Grove City next Saturday afternoon.
