Washington, PA - The Geneva College women′s tennis defeated Washington & Jefferson on Monday for the second time in seven days. After beating the President′s last Monday on their home courts, the Golden Tornadoes took care of W & J 8-1 on the road. The victory was the sixth straight for Geneva as the Golden Tornadoes improved to 8-4 on the season. The six match winning streak is the longest such streak during Mandee Craft′s nine year term as head coach.

Geneva continued its stellar play in doubles action by taking all three doubles matches to start the day. Chelsea Cover and Kara Zimmerman won their match 8-3 while teammates Amy Weller and Ashlyn Mallison battled to an 8-6 victory in #2 doubles. Maura McLaughlin and Havilah Mohler cruised to an 8-0 victory in the final doubles match.

McLaughlin was unable to finish her singles match because of flu-like symptom and was forced to retire after winning her first set. No one is on her game more than Kara Zimmerman as she won in straight sets and moved her personal winning streak to ten matches combined in singles and doubles. Amy Weller won in straight sets allowing her opponent only one game while Havilah Mohler completed her shut-out day with a straight set 6-0, 6-0 victory. Finally, Ashlyn Mallison won her second match of the day in straight sets.
