Latrobe, PA - Maura Allen found the back of the net for the Geneva women′s soccer team with less than five minutes remaining in regulation to tie the score at two against Saint Vincent on Saturday. But when things aren′t going well, the bounces just don′t go in the right direction. The Bearcats were the benefactors of a ricochet that got behind Geneva goalkeeper Lauen Londino for the deciding goal in a 3-2 final. The winning goal came with just over a minute remaining in regulation and sent Geneva to its fifth straight loss and an overall record of 7-8.

Rebecca Shaw opened the scoring midway through the first half as the Golden Tornadoes took a 1-0 lead. Saint Vincent answered late in the half to send the game to a 1-1 tie into halftime. After the Bearcats took the lead, Allen tied the game late but it wasn′t enough for Geneva to get back into the win column.

The Golden Tornadoes have dropped six of their last seven and have put themselves in a must win situation in the final week of the season. Geneva must finish the regular season with at least a .500 record to qualify for the NCCAA post-season. Geneva will host Waynesburg before closing out the regular season at Thiel next Friday. The Golden Tornadoes must salvage at least a win and a tie to move on to post-season play.

Geneva will honor its senior class of 2009 on Wednesday night in the regular season home finale beginning with the kickoff at 5 pm.
