Beaver Falls, PA - It has been a memorable season for Geneva College running back Gerard Muschette and the Golden Tornadoes′ football team. Geneva finished off an 8-3 season with its fifth NCCAA Victory Bowl title last weekend and one of the main reasons for its 2009 success was the play of Muschette.

Muschette was named the Victory Bowl offensive MVP and on Tuesday received his second NCCAA national player of the week honor based on his performance in the 2009 Victory Bowl. Muschette rushed for three touchdowns and ran for 113 yards in Geneva′s 29-28 victory over Greenville College.

Even more impressive are the numbers that Muschette put together for the season. Sharing carries with a pair of senior running backs, Muschette made the most of his opportunities for the Golden Tornadoes. Rushing for 1183 yards, Muschette put together the fifth highest single season rushing total in Geneva history. He also led the Presidents′ Athletic Conference with 92 points, which is the fourth highest single season total for Geneva College football.

The Geneva College athletic department has received a record nine student-athlete of the week awards from the NCCAA this fall, including five for the Golden Tornadoes′ football program. Muschette is the only Geneva student-athlete to receive the award twice this fall.
