Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva men′s basketball team still has some work to do. The Golden Tornadoes will be hosting Nyack College on Saturday at 3 pm in the NCCAA east regional finals. The winner will advance to the NCCAA national tournament in Oakland City, IN beginning on March 18th. Geneva takes a 15-11 record into the title game and three of Geneva′s key components were honored by the Presidents′ Athletic Conference on Tuesday. Rich Colick, Brandon Harvey and Bryan Hill each received PAC coach′s honors, which is the equivalent of all-conference consideration.
Colick, who garnered NCCAA all-american honors last year, is enjoying the finest season of his career. Averaging a team best 18.3 points per game, Colick sits just four points shy of the 1000 point plateau for his career. Colick also leads Geneva with his 7.7 rebounds per game. Joining Colick on the PAC All-Conference team is senior point guard Brandon Harvey. Leading the PAC in assists with 4.3 per game, Harvey is averaging 8.4 points per game while starting 24 of Geneva′s 26 games. Coming off the bench for most of the year, Bryan Hill has once again found his three-point shooting stroke. Hill has drained 59 three point field goals at a clip of 42.8% for the season. He has worked his way back into Geneva′s starting line-up and has hit big shot after big shot for the Golden Tornadoes down the stretch.
"Three very well deserving guys," said head coach Jeff Santarsiero. "Rich has enjoyed a special year and Brandon has found a home at the point guard position and Bryan continues to amaze me with his shooting ability. We have gotten great contributions from a lot of people but these guys have been a big part of our success."
Santarsiero himself has enjoyed great success and will be seeking his 300th career victory on Saturday when Geneva hosts his alma mater Nyack College.
