Grove City, PA - First year head coach Brian Yowler took the Geneva College track and field team to Grove City on Tuesday for the first outdoor meet of the new season. Yowler was pleased with the results as several of the Golden Tornadoes put up impressive finishes including a total of five first place winners.

In women′s action, Aisha Moore took first place in the 200 meter dash with a mark of 28:08. Moore also finished third in the triple jump. Teammate Julia Urbanski took first place in the 1500 meter event with Kayla Jackson claiming the top spot in the shot put with a distance of 10.31 meters. Other impressive female performances included Liz Michalak′s second place finish in the 100 meter dash and fourth place overall finish in the 400 meter hurdles. Shannon Rech finished third in the 3000 steeplechase and Sarah Davis was sixth in the 5000 meter race.

The men′s highlights included Stephen Stephen Polite′s victory in the triple jump and third place overall finish in the 100 meter dash. Teammates Josh Moore and Weston Marquis finished fourth and fifth respectively in the 100 meter race while Nick Edinger took the top spot in the 1500 meter event. Other highlights included a third place finish for Chez Anderson in the 800 meter race and a second place finish for Dan Dillman in the shotput. The men′s 4x100 meter relay team of Romaric Setodji, Weston Marquis, Stephen Polite and Shaka Sydnor finished second overall with a time of 45.77.

Geneva will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Muskingum College.
