New Concord, OH - Geneva College head track and field coach Brian Yowler offered to pull Aisha Moore from the women′s 4 x 400 relay event, but the sophomore wanted to finish what she started. Moore led the Geneva women past Muskingum by scoring in a total of six events and scoring 23 of Geneva′s 66 points in the win. Moore won the 400 meter dash and high jump while finishing in the top three in four others
Moore was helped on the women′s side by a pair of first place finishes from teammate Julia Urbanski in the 1500 meter and 800 meter races. Mallory Hunsinger won the 400 meter hurdles and was second in the 100 hurdles. Liz Michalak was impressive in scoring in four events while Kayla Jackson highlighted the throws with a first place effort in the javelin while qualifying for the NCCAA nationals.
A pair of Geneva throwers took center stage for the men as both Tyler French and Dan Dillman qualified for the NCCAA nationals in the shot put and javelin. French won the shot put event with Dillman finishing second. In the javelin, the duo switched spots with Dillman taking first place. Dillman, French and Jackson join Shannon Rech as the foursome that is currently qualified for the NCCAA nationals at Taylor University in May.
Geneva will be back on the track this Saturday when it travels to the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.
