Genevans choir to perform March 26 and 27 at Geneva College.

Geneva College′s acclaimed mixed choir, The Genevans, will perform a free home concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27 at the John H. White Chapel on Geneva′s campus.

The theme of the concert is “My Father′s World,” based on the early 20th century hymn “This is My Father′s World.” Recently returned from a tour of the Mid-Atlantic states, the choir is preparing for a European tour this summer.

Established in 1938, The Genevans represent the merger of Geneva′s original men′s and women′s glee clubs. Since then, the choir has performed across the United States and Canada, as well as in ten European countries, to significant acclaim.

The Genevans have been directed for twenty-eight years by Dr. Robert Copeland, a Geneva alumnus who earned his M.Mus. and Ph.D. degrees from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining the Geneva faculty, he served in the U.S. Army and taught in Kansas for ten years. Dr. Copeland is also an active elder in his church.

The concert is open to the public, and attendance is free. For more information, contact the music department at 724-847-6660.
