Geneva College will host its annual Founders Day celebration on Saturday, April 17. Since 1848, the college has touched the lives of thousands of young men and women, and Founders Day is a time to remember the commitment of our founders and look forward to the potential of the future.

The day will include a variety of events for alumni, students, faculty, staff and members of the community, including:

Campus Tours (10 – 11 a.m.) Discover or re-discover the beauty of Geneva College′s campus on a student-led guided tour.

Hallway of History Tour (10 – 11 a.m.) Experience162 years of Christ-centered education at Geneva College.

Student Engineering Exhibit (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) Come witness what students are learning and creating for various competitions.

Naismith Basketball Exhibit (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) Ian Naismith, grandson of the inventor of basketball, shares exclusive memorabilia and artifacts in this 2, 000 square foot exhibit, including evidence reconfirming Geneva′s title as the Birthplace of Basketball.

Reflection Service (10:30 a.m.) All may gather for a time of worship and reflection.

Faculty Presentation (1 p.m.) Political Science Professor Dr. Tom Copeland will share the history and purpose behind Geneva′s motto.

Alumni Women′s and Men′s Soccer Game (1 and 3 p.m.)

Student Activities (2 p.m.) Join the fun as our students participate in the Big Wheel Rally and the Little Bat Competitions.

Veteran′s Plaza Dedication (3 p.m.) The campus will gather to honor alumni and friends who have served our country in the military.

This year′s reunion classes are 1940, ′45, ′50, ′55, ′60, ′70, ′75 and ′80. Special reunions will be held for alumni veterans, as well as alumni who have served or are serving in full-time Christian ministry.

Preceding Founders Day, on Friday, April 16, exclusive events will be held for the Class of 1960′s 50th reunion. At 5:30 p.m., President Kenneth A. Smith will host a dinner in the Presidents Dining Room in Alexander Hall. A coffee hour in the college′s new Riverview Café will follow the dinner.
