Steubenville, OH - What goes around comes around is a popular saying in athletics. For the Geneva College women′s tennis team, an impressive bounce back victory on Wednesday erased the taste of a difficult loss last Friday. The Golden Tornadoes cruised to a 9-0 victory over Franciscan on Wednesday evening which comes just five days after suffering the same fate against Saint Vincent College. The victory moved Geneva′s early season record to 2-1.

The match began with Geneva sweeping all three doubles matches in allowing only three games to Franciscan. The duo of Maura McLaughlin and Christine Bullock cruised to an 8-0 victory as did the tandem of Julie Kline and Alyssa Kuhn. The number one doubles team of Chelsea Cover and Kara Zimmerman won 8-3. In singles, Cover, Zimmerman and Bullock each picked up victories to go along with their doubles work. Other winners included Alison Beattie, Amy Weller and Cassandra Califf. Bullock, Zimmerman and Beattie each won in straight sets without giving up a game.

Geneva returns home on Friday to host Grove City before heading to Westminster next Wednesday afternoon.
