CANTON, OH - Weather played a role in the outcome of Geneva′s men′s soccer match at Malone University on Thursday afternoon. Thunderstorms rolled into the Canton area and halted the match between the Golden Tornadoes and Pioneers in the 73rd minute but not before it had been deemed an official match since it passed the 70 minute mark. Geneva held a 2-1 lead at the time of the storms and was awarded the victory. The win moved the Golden Tornadoes to 3-1-1 on the season.

Senior Chris Morschl tallied his first goal of the season off of a feed from Teddy Kryswiecki to give Geneva a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute of the match. Malone tied the game in the 34th minute but Josh Mann struck for the eventual game winner just three minutes into the second half with Kryswiecki picking up his second assist of the match.

Evan Biedenbach picked up his third victory of the season in goal with six saves to preserve the victory. Geneva out shot Malone 14-11 for the match with six of those shots going on goal.

The Golden Tornadoes return to Merriman Athletic Complex on Saturday night for a meeting with Heidelberg College scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm.
