Crestview Hills, KY - The Geneva College tennis team had to endure a long trip to Kentucky on Friday to visit Thomas More College. The wait turned out to be well worth it as the Golden Tornadoes put an end to their small two match drought and defeated the Saints 5-4. The victory moved Geneva back to 3-3 for the season.

The Golden Tornadoes were forced to rally back in singles action after Thomas More took two of three matches in doubles competition. Geneva′s number three doubles team of Julie Kline and Alyssa Kuhn picked up the lone victory in doubles by the score of 8-5. Two of the six singles matches stretched into a third set and ended up being the deciding factor. Geneva′s Julie Kline rallied back after dropping the first set to win her number five singles match 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. Other winners in singles action in straight sets were Alison Beattie, Amy Weller and Maura McLaughlin.

Geneva continues its road trip on Saturday afternoon when it takes on Asbury College. The Golden Tornadoes return home next Thursday for a match with Waynesburg at 3:30 pm.
