Wilmore, KY - The Geneva College tennis made a two-day swing through the state of Kentucky over the weekend with mixed results. Following an exciting 5-4 victory over Thomas More on Friday, the Golden Tornadoes dropped an 8-1 decision to Asbury College on day two of the trip. The loss on Saturday dropped Geneva′s overall record to 3-4.

Geneva′s lone point came as a result of Maura McLaughlin′s singles victory in number six singles by the score of 6-2, 6-1. Chelsea Cover lost her number one singles match in a tiebreaker by the count of 11-9. Each of the other singles losses came in straight sets as Geneva also dropped each of its three doubles matches on Saturday.

Geneva returns to Beaver Falls to face Waynesburg next Saturday afternoon and Thiel at home on Friday.
