Beaver Falls, PA - In a 24 hour period, the Geneva College women′s tennis team went from being under the .500 mark to being over the .500 mark with a pair of victories. Following a win over Waynesburg on Thursday, the Golden Tornadoes made short work of Thiel College to the tune of a 9-0 shut-out victory. The win pushed Geneva′s overall record to 5-4 for the season while Thiel is still in search of its first win of the season.

Geneva swept all three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the singles competition. It didn′t take long for Geneva to take care of business as it surrendered only five games in six matches. Geneva′s top two singles players Chelsea Cover and Kara Zimmerman each won in two sets by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Teammate Julie Kline also won her match in shut-out fashion. Other winners in singles on Friday included Maura McLaughlin, Sarah Cypher and Katie Caldwell.

Geneva travels to Chatham on Monday and will visit Bethany next Friday before returning home for a homecoming match with Pitt-Bradford on October 9th at 1 pm.
