Beaver Falls, PA - If you haven′t been following the Geneva College volleyball team for the past four weeks, shame on you. It is about time to stand up and take notice of what the Golden Tornadoes are accomplishing throughout the region and the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. On Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes won two more matches with 3-0 victories over Washington & Jefferson and Saint Vincent to improve their overall record to 13-2. Geneva opened the day with a sweep over W & J by scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-23. Adriane Blake was magnificent all day and threw down a team best 14 kills with an impressive .343 hitting percentage.

Maggie Bowersox was also solid at the net with ten kills while also picking up a pair of blocks. Brianna Mixter moved back to the setter position in match number one and had 31 assists to go along with ten digs. Off the bench, Kristland McCracken had 12 digs to continue Geneva′s outstanding defensive effort as the top digs team in the NCCAA.

Geneva defeated Saint Vincent in straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 28-26. Taking the first match off proved to be beneficial for freshman setter Deanna Briody as she came up with an incredible 42 assists in three games. She set Blake for 15 more kills and Rachel Kuegler added ten kills and Bowersox chipped in with eight.

Geneva continues its season long home stand on Tuesday night when it hosts Thiel College at Metheny Fieldhouse.
