Beaver Falls, PA - It was far from an offensive showcase, but Geneva College and Carlow University got tangled in a defensive struggle in women′s soccer on Wednesday night and the result was a 0-0 double overtime tie. The tie moved Geneva′s overall record to 8-0-3 as the Golden Tornadoes stretched their unbeaten streak to 11 games.

Senior goalkeeper Lauren Londino keeps adding to the Geneva record books with her 24th career shutout and seventh of the season. Londino turned away all nine shots on goal to earn the tie and the goose egg. Geneva′s offense out shot Carlow 25-14 including 14 shots on goal but Celtics goalkeeper Olivia Clark was also up to the task with 14 saves.

The Golden Tornadoes had perhaps the best scoring opportunity of the night five minutes into the second half when Elise Mann fired a shot from 25 yards out the hit off the cross bar and back outside the box. Geneva had a few more chances including a solid shot from 15 yards out from Risa Tillman in the closing seconds of overtime.

Geneva continues its three game home stand on Saturday as it plays its first match against a PAC opponent when Thomas More comes to town for a 2 pm kickoff. Geneva will then host Thiel College next Wednesday night.
