Beaver Falls, PA - If you missed comeback kids act one on Saturday afternoon, the Geneva College men′s soccer team put together an encore performance on Monday night as it once again rallied late and defeated Muskingum College 2-1 in overtime. The victory was Geneva′s seventh straight and pushed the Golden Tornadoes′ overall record to 9-1-1.

Much like Saturday afternoon, the Geneva offense could not find the net for most of the night. Despite heavily outshooting the Muskies, the Golden Tornadoes found themselves down 1-0 in the closing moments of the second half. With just over five minutes remaining in regulation Jeb Nash fed a ball into the box that was deflected by Caleb Mussleman directly to the foot of Teddy Kryswiecki, who buried the ball into the net to tie the game. Neither team could score in the final minutes and for the second time in three days, Geneva was headed to overtime.

Five minutes into the extra session, a blast off the foot of Matt Weaver got deflected off the goalie right to the foot of Jake McCracken who made no mistake about depositing the ball into the net for the game winner. "Once again our guys showed great character and great patience," said head coach Gary Dunda. "We really controlled the play in the second half and if we kept pushing, our guys felt like we could find the net."

Evan Biedenbach was forced to make just one save for his ninth victory as the Golden Tornadoes put 11 shots on goal and scored on two of their last three attempts.

Geneva continues a busy week with PAC opponent Thiel coming to town on Wednesday before heading to Grove City on Friday afternoon.
