Bethany, WV - When you have reached the final 1/3 of your season and have not suffered back to back losses it most likely means the program is enjoying a pretty solid season. On Wednesday, the Geneva College women′s soccer team had to endure back to back losses for the first time in 2010. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a hard fought 1-0 decision to Bethany College in falling to 9-3-3 and losing for the second time in a row for the first time this season. After an 8-0-3 record through the month of September, the Golden Tornadoes have dropped three of four to open the month of October.

Bethany took advantage of an early goal and was able to hold Geneva off the scoreboard despite several offensive opportunities. The Bison scored the game′s only goal in the 10th minute and managed to make that tally stand up for the remainder of the contest.

The two teams each managed ten shots with the Golden Tornadoes firing five shots on goal but the Bison were up to the task on each attempt. Geneva′s Lauren Londino made four saves in the match but it was the goal ten minutes into the match that proved to be the difference for Bethany.

Geneva will remain on the road when it travels to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday afternoon to take on the Presidents. The Golden Tornadoes return home a week from Saturday to host Chatham University at 2 pm.
