Crestview Hills, KY - A rigorous schedule for the Geneva College women′s volleyball team may have finally caught up with the Golden Tornadoes as they dropped a 3-0 decision at Thomas More on Saturday by scores of 25-14, 28-26, 25-21. Geneva fell to 23-5 on the season and remained one win shy of breaking the single season school record for victories.

Playing its 11th match out of the last 12 on the road, Geneva was also playing its third match of the week and the long bus ride to Kentucky on Saturday morning didn′t help the Golden Tornadoes′ cause against a very good Saints team.

After getting surprised 25-14 in the first game of the day, Geneva had its chances in game two before dropping a hotly contested 28-26 set. On the day, Adriane Blake led the offense with nine kills with Maggie Bowersox and Rachel Kuegler chipping in with seven kills each. It was the first match of the season that no Geneva player managed double digit kills. Deanna Briody finished the match with 23 assists while Brianna Mixter led the defense with 17 digs.

Geneva goes right back to the road on Tuesday night when it travels to Latrobe to take on Saint Vincent before returning home on Thursday for the home finale against Grove City at 7 pm. The regular season comes to an end next Saturday when Geneva heads to Westminster.
