Beaver Falls, PA - Adriane Blake and Laura Zerbe knew this day was coming and they couldn′t have written a better script for senior day 2010. The senior duo helped the Geneva College volleyball team dispatch Grove City 3-0 and in the process picking up win number 25 on the season. Geneva improved to 25-5 on the season and built upon the new school record for wins in a season after having broken the record on Tuesday night. Zerbe and Blake picked up career victory number 83 as the winningest senior class in Geneva College history. The Golden Tornadoes defeated Grove City by scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-19 in dropping the Wolverines to 6-21 in 2010.

"What a send off," said co-head coach Wendy Smith. "These two seniors are so special to us and to our program and it has been an absolute joy having them for the last four years. They helped our program in a time of need when we were making the transition to Division III and because of that commitment and dedication they are leaving our program stronger than ever. That is a tribute to both Adriane and Laura and the leadership they have provided through those difficult years."

Blake, who leads the PAC in kills, showed off her skills one final time for the home crowd with a team best 16 kills and 14 digs, while Zerbe also provided the team with a spark putting up nine kills in the victory. The youngsters also played a key role with Rachel Kuegler chipping in with 12 kills and Brianna Mixter posting a team best 22 digs. Freshman setter Deanna Briody continued her PAC torrid pace with a team high 45 assists. The unsung hero of the night may have been Erin Smith who smashed back to back service aces with the score 24-24 in the second game to give the Golden Tornadoes a 2-0 lead in the match.

Geneva will close out the regular season on Saturday at Westminster in search of victory number 26. The Golden Tornadoes will then wait nearly three weeks for word from the NCCAA as to whether they have earned an NCCAA national tournament bid for the first time in school history.
