The Pantry Bowl

This year′s food drive has been renamed the Pantry Bowl. The City Rescue Mission has put together a “friendly” competition between Geneva and Westminster Colleges. While Geneva collects food for Beaver County, Westminster will collect food for Lawrence County. The food will be used for Thanksgiving baskets, with all donations collected on the Geneva campus going to families in Beaver County through the City Rescue Mission.

The final collection, weigh-in of food, and celebration of the amount of food collected will take place at the Geneva vs. Westminster Football game Saturday, November 13.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) encourages the campus community to donate for this important cause. Students, faculty and staff can put donations in the boxes that are placed in:

  • First floor of Old Main
  • Student Center – near the Brig
  • Northwood main level (first floor)
  • Alex′s dining hall - lobby
  • S&E near the Chemistry offices
  • Fieldhouse lobby
  • All residence halls

All non-perishable food items are welcome. Items which are most needed include: canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned gravy, canned yams, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, pie crust mix, pumpkin pie filling and evaporated milk.

Members of the community can also donate money to this cause in donation tubs at the game.  Every dollar given will equal one pound of food donated. All donations collected in our Geneva campus community will be going to families in Beaver County through the City Rescue Mission. The SAAC thanks everyone for their contributions to those in need.
