Crestview Hills, KY - The Thomas More College women′s basketball team has not lost a game all season. The Saints put their number one Division III ranking and perfect 19-0 record on the line on Wednesday night as they hosted Geneva College. At the end of the night, both the undefeated season and the number ranking were safe in a 70-41 victory over the visiting Golden Tornadoes. The loss dropped Geneva to 8-12 on the season and simply means the Geneva women must win their last five games of the season to finish above the .500 mark and qualify for any type of NCCAA post-season.

In order to beat the number ranked team, the Golden Tornadoes had to protect the ball and make some shots. Both areas suffered on Wednesday as Geneva turned the ball over 17 times in the first half and 27 times for the game. Geneva connected on just 16 field goals and shot 32% from the field as a team including just four three-point field goals. "We just never got into our offense," said head coach Renee Drake. "They are obviously a great team but we didn′t give our best performance and when you play this caliber of a basketball team you almost need to play perfect and we were far from that tonight."

Thomas More scored the game′s first eight points and built a 15-4 lead in the first five minutes. The Saints took a 40-20 lead into halftime and then scored the first 12 points of the second stanza to put the game away. Christine Carugati was Geneva′s lone shining spot on offense with 11 points on 5-7 shooting from the field. She was the only player to reach double figures for the Golden Tornadoes as Geneva was held to 40 points or less for the fourth time this season.

Geneva returns home on Saturday but the schedule gets no easier. The Golden Tornadoes will host nationally ranked Saint Vincent College in a game scheduled to tip off at 5:30 pm.
