Geneva College′s Career Development Center is hosting its annual Networking & Etiquette Dinner on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. The dinner will be in the President's Dining Room of Alexander Hall from 5-7:30 p.m.

Students will learn valuable etiquette and professional behavior that will prepare them for future opportunities at Geneva and beyond. During the networking session, hors d'oeuvres and a full-course dinner will be served while students are instructed in international and western dining, and social etiquette.

Director of Career Development Robert Rostoni says that networking is important because "that′s often where deals are made." Rostoni outlines five basic reasons why it is important to know proper dinning and networking etiquette:

  • 94% of job searching is conducted through networking.
  • Networking advances your career path.
  • Business deals are sealed over meals.
  • New clients are procured through networking and dining etiquette.
  • Business meetings are conducted in dining settings.

Attendees should dress in business casual attire and should not wear jeans. Admission to the event is $5 plus a meal swipe. Please note that space is limited. Students can register by clicking here.
