Clearwater, FL – The Geneva College baseball team cruised to a pair of victories on Wednesday to improve its early season record to 4-1 with a doubleheader sweep over Cincinnati Christian by scores of 11-3 and 10-1. After dropping the first game of the season, the Golden Tornadoes have now won four straight.

On Wednesday, Geneva got a pair of solid pitching performances by Noah Medich and Matt Baer. Medich won game won with a complete game effort allowing just two earned runs in seven innings of work. The offense in game one came from Adam Scheiderer, who posted three doubles and picked up four RBI′s and two runs scored. Mike Suluva also contributed with three RBI′s in the game one victory.

Matt Baer tossed a complete game and allowed no earned runs in picking up the victory. Geneva banged out 11 hits in the night cap including two each from Noah Medich, Jeremy Herzog, Suluva and Scheiderer. Scheiderer has opened the 2011 campaign like a house of fire going 10-21 with five doubles and a home run in the first five games of the season.

Geneva will try to extend its winning streak on Thursday with a doubleheader against Valley Forge Christian.
