Geneva College will present three candidates with honorary doctorate degrees as part of the 2011 commencement ceremonies. Honorary degrees will be presented to John Manzetti and Rev. Jerry O′Neill at Geneva′s undergraduate commencement on Saturday, May 7. Also, an honorary degree will be given to Young Park, Esq. during commencement at the Center for Urban Theological Studies (CUTS), an urban Philadelphia collegiate partner of Geneva College, on Saturday, June 4.

"It is a privilege to bestow these prestigious degrees on these individuals and honor the excellence of their professional achievements," said Geneva president Dr. Ken Smith.

Mr. Manzetti will receive an honorary Doctor of Entrepreneurial Business degree. He is currently the president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse, a business incubator that provides services to life sciences enterprises in the Pittsburgh region. Manzetti is a 1969 graduate of Geneva, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. He is the recipient of the 2008 Carnegie Science Center Catalyst Award for Life Sciences and the 2008 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Geneva will present Rev. O′Neill with an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree. Rev. O′ Neill is a professor of pastoral theology and the president of the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary (RPTS) in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from Geneva College in 1969. Under his leadership, the RPTS has added a Biblical Counseling Center and several new academic programs.

At the CUTS commencement, Mr. Park will receive an honorary Doctor of Law degree. He is the president of the Korean-American Association of Greater Philadelphia and employs more than 20 attorneys at his law office. Mr. Park is a Christian leader who has been instrumental in promoting the Korean Program at CUTS as a spokesman in both the Asian-American communities and in South Korea.
