Beaver Falls, PA - It has been a long and tedious process for Geneva College and the Golden Tornadoes but the time has finally arrived for full Division III membership. Last week, the NCAA notified the Golden Tornadoes that the Division III Management Council accepted the NCAA Division III Membership Committee′s recommendation that Geneva College be granted active membership status effective September 1.

Geneva has endured four years of provisional status where it was not eligible for any NCAA post-season appearances or awards. Despite the downtime, the Golden Tornadoes have continued to excel in and out of the athletic arena.

A process that began with Geno DeMarco as the school′s athletic director, concluded with Dr. Kim Gall at the helm. Many people in between helped to push the process, not the least of which was Assistant Athletic Director and Compliance Officer Rebecca Dittmar.

The Golden Tornadoes will open PAC play this coming fall and will be eligible for conference titles in each of their 15 varsity sports. The PAC season opens with the cross country team hosting a meet on September 1st and the women′s tennis team hosting Saint Vincent on the 2nd. The football team will open PAC action on September 17th when it will travel to Kentucky to face off against defending PAC champion Thomas More.
