Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College women′s volleyball team had is most challenging and most important week of the season with four PAC matches against quality opponents. Midway through that stretch, it′s so far, so good as the Golden Tornadoes defeated Saint Vincent 3-0 on Thursday night to stay perfect in the conference at 7-0. Just two days after defeating Thiel and two days before heading to Kentucky for matches against Thomas More and Bethany, the Golden Tornadoes extended their season long winning streak to five matches and improved to 12-6 for the season. Meanwhile, Saint Vincent fell to 11-5 overall including a 3-3 mark in the conference.

Geneva defeated Saint Vincent by game scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-19 for its sixth three game sweep of the season. It was a similar formula for the Golden Tornadoes with sophomore setter Deanna Briody distributing the ball effectively to four players across the net. Briody finished with 39 assists with the majority going to Kristland McCracken, who finished with a team best 14 kills. Maggie Bowersox and Ashley Davis each chipped in with ten kills while Rachel Kuegler added eight. Bowersox also picked up four blocks to lead the defense at the net. Kuegler finished with 23 kills while PAC dig leader Brianna Mixter added 19 in the match.

The Golden Tornadoes will complete their busy PAC week on Saturday in Kentucky when they face off against Bethany College at 1 pm and the host Saints at 3 pm. Next week, Geneva returns to Metheny Fieldhouse on Wednesday night for a rematch with Thiel College.
