Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College women′s tennis team dropped a 5-4 non-conference match to Franciscan on Tuesday afternoon. Early in the match, Geneva′s #2 doubles team comprised of Amy Weller and Julie Kline were forced into a tiebreaker that would ultimately decide the entire match. Geneva′s duo came up on the short end of a 7-5 tie-breaker as the Golden Tornadoes dropped two of the three doubles matches which sealed their fate.

Heading into the six singles matches, Geneva had to win four of the six to steal the match but was only able to come up with a split in the singles action and came up one point short. Brittany Kress and Courtney Light continued to shine with Geneva′s lone doubles victory.

In singles, Weller, Cassandra Califf and Kara Zimmerman each won their matches but it proved to be too little, too late for the Golden Tornadoes.

Geneva will be host Malone University on Wednesday before heading back into conference play on Saturday with a match at Waynesburg.
