Geneva College communication students at PCA conference.

Six Geneva College senior communication majors recently participated in the Pennsylvania Communication Association′s (PCA) 72nd annual conference held at Westminster College. Students were asked to apply a communications theory and create a poster presentation.

Havilah Mohler and Kevin Hinnebusch placed first with their poster titled, "Fisher′s Narrative Paradigm and Secondhand Lions." Monica Miller and Ji Yun Bae placed third with their poster, "Applying the Social Judgment Theory in A Bug′s Life."

"This was originally a project we did for Professor Jeffrey Schindel′s course, Communication Process," explained Bae. "We put a lot of time and work into the research and making of the poster, so it was a huge reward to be able to represent Geneva College and come back with a win."

"These students represented Geneva College well with their scholarship," said Professor Schindel.

The Pennsylvania Communication Association (PCA) promotes teaching, research, service and development in all areas of human communication. The poster session at the annual conference allows students to present their research to a group of judges who are professors from various colleges in Pennsylvania.

Participating schools included Pennsylvania State University, Point Park University, the University of Pittsburgh University and more.
