Beaver Falls, PA - There was much celebration a year ago when the Geneva College volleyball team won its 26th match of the season to set a new single season record for victories. One year later, the Golden Tornadoes were celebrating once again after victory #26. Not so much for tying the school record but for defeating Westminster 3-0 to advance to the school′s first-ever Presidents′ Athletic Conference championship game. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 26-8 on the season as they defeated Westminster on Friday night as they were not much of a host for the Titans in the first match of the night.

Geneva won the match in three straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-19. Ashley Davis led the offense with 13 kills while teammate Maggie Bowersox added ten kills in the victory. Sophomore setter Deanna Briody led the way with 34 assists while also adding 17 digs to tie Brianna Mixter for the team lead in the category.

The Golden Tornadoes, the top seed in the PAC tournament, will await the winner of Bethany/Thomas More to find out their opponent for the conference title match on Saturday at 4 pm. "We are thrilled to have this opportunity," said co-head coach Wendy Smith. "It has been such an amazing season so far for our ladies and we are determined to finish this thing off the right way."

The winner of the conference tournament will move on to NCAA regional play which will most likely begin next weekend.
