Kissimmee, FL - The Geneva College men′s soccer team has certainly specialized in dramatic finishes in 2011. On Thursday evening, the Golden Tornadoes took drama to a whole new level as they defeated Judson College 2-1 in overtime in the NCCAA national semi-finals to advance to the school′s first national title game since winning the championship in 1994. Geneva College, the only non-scholarship school competing in the eight-team field, defeated a scholarship program for the second time in two days to advance to the NCCAA finals. The victory pushed Geneva′s overall record to 16-5-3 and assured itself of at least a second place finish on the national stage.

Jake McCracken, who scored the game winning goal on a penalty kick on Wednesday afternoon, got Geneva on the board with an impressive strike in the 30th minute to give the Golden Tornadoes a 1-0 lead. Third seeded Judson College responded midway through the second half with the tying goal, which is where the game stayed through regulation time.

In the first overtime session it was Garrett Master′s that got his head onto a cross and fed it past the Judson goalkeeper to spark the game winning celebration. "There are no real words to describe what is going on with this team," said head coach Gary Dunda. "I don′t think there is anybody down here other than the guys wearing Geneva shirts that gave us a chance to advance into the championship. These guys have done all we have asked of them all season and have worked extremely hard. There is no doubt that we deserve to be in this position with a chance to win a national championship."

The NCCAA national title game will take place on Saturday night at 5:30 pm. The Golden Tornadoes will face top seeded California Baptist, who advanced on penalty kicks, in the championship.
