Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College women′s basketball team brought its first two-game win streak into Wednesday night′s PAC contest. The bad news for the Golden Tornadoes was Wednesday′s opponent. The Saint Vincent Bearcats have dominated Geneva in women′s basketball over the years. On Wednesday night, Saint Vincent continued that trend with a decisive 69-33 victory over Geneva. The loss dropped Geneva to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the conference while Saint Vincent improved to 6-1 in league play.

Geneva and Saint Vincent have played 62 times in the all-time series and Wednesday′s victory was the 50th for the Bearcats against Geneva. Saint Vincent didn′t waste much time getting out of the game in knocking down nine of its first ten shots and opening up a 45-22 lead at the half. The Bearcats 36 point victory matched the largest lead of the game. Geneva held Saint Vincent to only nine second half field goals, but Geneva′s offense also went quiet with four field goals in the final 20 minutes and a 22% mark from the field, including 0-6 from three-point range.

Beth DeLuca was Geneva′s only player to reach double figures with 11 points. She tried to keep the Golden Tornadoes close in the first half with three three-point field goals but the Bearcats were too much offensively. Geneva turned the ball over 31 times in the game while Saint Vincent only made ten miscues.

Geneva will try to get back on track on Saturday when it hosts Saint Vincent College at 1 pm at Metheny Fieldhouse before heading out on the road for three straight PAC match-ups.
