Gettysburg, PA - Less than 24 hours after opening the season with a pair of victories on the first day of the Gettysburg College tournament, Geneva′s women′s volleyball team completed its undefeated weekend with victories over Dickinson and Messiah. The Golden Tornadoes opened the day with a 3-0 victory over Dickinson by scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 and then closed out the weekend with a 3-1 win over Messiah by scores of 25-10, 26-28, 25-11, 25-19.

Geneva got eight kills from both Sarah Ormsby and Erin Smith in the victory over Dickinson. While freshman setter Lynsey Gugino led the way with 22 assists, it was the serving of Geneva that proved to be the difference. The Golden Tornadoes finished the first match of the day with 16 service aces.

In the night cap, Deanna Briody was back to her old self with 39 assists in Geneva′s four-set victory. Paige Banyas and Ashley Davis each had 12 digs while Davis finished the second match with 16 kills. Kristland McCracken finished the match with 11 kills.

Geneva takes its 4-0 early season record to Latrobe on Wednesday to begin defense of its PAC title against Saint Vincent College. The Golden Tornadoes open the home schedule on September 12th against Waynesburg.
