Crestview Hills, KY - The weekend appetizer didn′t go down so well for the Geneva College women′s tennis team on Friday evening. The Golden Tornadoes traveled to Kentucky for a weekend of action with the non-conference appetizer taking place on Friday before the main course on Saturday morning. Geneva dropped a 9-0 non-conference decision to Franklin College less than a day before going up against conference foe Thomas More on Saturday morning.

Geneva fell to 4-4 overall with the loss as none of the nine matches were very competitive. The only doubles duo that gave Franklin a run for its money was in number three doubles where teammates Alyssa Kuhn and Courtney Light fell to an 8-5 decision. Playing all pro-sets to eight in singles action, the Golden Tornadoes dropped all six matches and won a combined ten games in doing so on Friday evening.

Geneva will get down to its real business of the weekend when it faces Thomas More in a PAC match-up on Saturday morning in an attempt to pick up a game on the Saints in the conference standings. The Golden Tornadoes come back north next week to play a conference match at Bethany on Tuesday before finally returning home for a match with Waynesburg on Thursday at 4 pm.
